Domestic sales of the PlayStation 4 reached 322,083 over a two day period since its release in Japan on Feb. 22, according to Famitsu.

The next-generation console released in the region for 39,980 yen and 43,980 yen bundled with its Eye camera peripheral. Consumers who purchased the PS4 at launch received Knack for free. Famitsu — whose parent company Enterbrain offers a sales-tracking service — notes that domestic launch sales of the PlayStation 3 recorded 88,443 units over a two day period when it was released in the country on Nov. 11, 2006.

A few days following the PS4’s launch in the U.S. and Canada on Nov. 15, 2013, Sony announced that it sold more than one million PS4 units within the first 24 hours of its release in the markets. The company revealed earlier this month that the PS4 has cumulatively sold more than 5.3 million units worldwide, according NPD Group data as of Feb. 8.
