Activision Re-Joins The ESA

activisionblizzard610

Back in 2008, Activision dropped out of industry trade association the ESA (Entertainment Software Association). Now the Call of Duty publisher/developer – along with Chinese online services company Tencent – is back in the fold.

Although Activision has not been a member of the ESA for a few years, the company has been at E3, the annual trade show put on by the ESA.

It’s unclear why Activision has re-joined the organization, but the ESA does provide services to publishers such as anti-piracy programs, legal advocacy, and the ESRB ratings organization.

Activision and Tencent also have a relationship together – they previously partnered to bring Call of Duty Online to China.
