Rockstar has been addressing fan questions surrounding Grand Theft Auto V. One of these includes the question of size, with GTA V being the most ambitious and generously proportioned GTA game yet, dwarfing Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV in scale.
This means that the Xbox 360 version will ship on two discs, one of which will be a mandatory install disc that will require 8GB of free space on your console’s HDD. The second disc will then be used to play the game, which means no having to interrupt your GTA V experience to swap discs. Players with 4GB consoles can use a 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive for the install.
Rockstar also confirmed that the game will be bundled with a massive two-sided map of Los Santos and the surrounding areas, but the Special Edition’s blueprint map will have more detail, including secrets and other stuff.
Gameplay details on the character swapping mechanic have also been delved into a little further, with Franklin, Michael and Trevor going about their daily business when you’re away from them. “And because they have their own schedules, you’ll never know what they might be doing – you might drop in on Michael in the middle of a family dispute, interrupt Franklin chatting up some ladies, or Trevor on the run from the law – or whatever else these guys do in their free time… How and when you switch between characters when you’re not on a mission is completely up to you,” the Rockstar Q&A explained
