Not to be outdone by its own 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II, Samsung has announced a new pair of smartphones that blurs the line between phone and tablet even further. The upcoming Galaxy Mega phones will be available in 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch varieties, with the larger model besting even Huawei’s 6.1-inch Ascend Mate. According to Engadget, the 5.8-inch display will have a resolution of 960 x 540 with the 6.3-inch screen sporting a 1280 x 720 resolution.
Both Mega handsets will include an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with a 1.9-megapixel camera up front. The 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega is paired with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and 8 or 16GB of on-board storage, while the smaller version will come with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and 8GB of internal memory. Both also support microSD cards up to 64GB and are equipped with 1.5GB of RAM. LTE connectivity will be included with the larger Galaxy Mega, with the 5.8-inch version packing an HSPA+ radio.
