It seems that almost every game has an online pass of some description nowadays, and Batman: Arkham City will be no exception, with its bundled VIP pass unlocking the game’s Catwoman content. “Playing as Catwoman is not required to complete the game,” Warner Bros. told Eurogamer in a statement, if you’re concerned.
Should you buy a pre-owned copy of Batman: Arkham City, you’ll still be able to access the Catwoman character, four story sequences and her Riddler’s Revenge challenge rooms by purchasing a VIP pass via the Xbox Live Marketplace. “Players who purchase previously owned copies of Batman: Arkham City can access the playable Catwoman content for 800 Microsoft Points,” Warner confirmed.
Obviously Catwoman will still play her usual role in the story without a pass, but if you want to actually play as her, you’ll be wanting that pass. Our advice? Buy new! Watch the skies for the Bat Signal as Batman: Arkham City prepares to launch on October 18th in North America and October 21st in Europe.
